Another "Friend" card

And here's yet another card made using the "A little bit of happiness" retired stampset and the hostess gift designer papers. Don't you just love them!

Chris's Birthday Card

Here is the card that I sent to one of my fellow Jems - Chris. It is her birthday today, so I can safely post it now and not spoil the surprise.
Happy Birthday Chris.
I have used the retired "A little bit of happiness" stampset, I have done two or three of these cards now and I like them all.

New Laptop

Well Barry and I have been to PC World today to buy me a new laptop, so I am just getting to grips with Windows7  instead of the XP version I am used to.  It may take some time before I am up to speed on this so please be patient with me.  I am quite impressed with it up to now and will let you all know how I get on.  I started a few cards today, stamped and did some colouring in, then all my inspiration left me.   Hope that the weather is fine tomorrow as I didn’t get a game of golf yesterday as it never stopped raining – although it did mean that I did half the ironing!

Bye for now!

Friend Card

Here is the second card I have to show you - this is cased from JULIES BLOG. This is using the I (Heart) Hearts stampset from the Mini Catalogue. I don't have this set, but when I went up to Julie's on the last Training evening, I stamped a page full of these delicious hearts and think that they are so good I am going to buy this set next.
I do think that the colours go together so well and I love the pink passion and black together.
Yesterday was such a hot day again, that I went round the house looking for washing to do, to take advantage of the excellent drying conditions! (How sad is that!) I'm regretting it now that I have to do the ironing today. Still if its another fine day, I shall just delay the ironing until another day. Make hay while the sun shines as they say! See ya - be happy!

Back on Track

Hi everyone. Well I didn't manage to post my cards on Saturday as - yes - you've guessed, I went golfing. It was the most beautiful day and so hot. Then in the evening Barry and I went to Yeadon to see my SU Mummy Julie in "Footloose" It was fabulous and Julie was absolutely great. I wasn't aware of her singing talents - she has a beautiful voice. We really enjoyed it , although the theatre was really hot - it was like an oven.
Anyhow, here is one of the two cards that I have made this past fortnight, it was for my very good friend Joan who was 60 yesterday.

This is made using the fabulous new Rich Razzleberry cardstock and Cottage Wall DSP and of course the delicious Polka Dot ribbon.

Normal service will be resumed

Hi everyone, just a quick line or two to say that I am hoping to get back into a somewhat more normal routine, now that the funeral is behind me.
The service went well yesterday and the church was packed out with Steve's friends, family and work colleagues - he would have been so pleased at the turnout. The sun shone all afternoon, (sun shines on righteous!)and we spent time afterwards reminiscing on old times, looking at the photos that I had collected and put together on a few boards. Many people have asked for various copies of these photos,so its nice that people still want to remember my beloved brother.

I am golfing in the morning and going to see my SU mummy Julie tomorrow evening in Footloose - looking forward to this!
Will post a card or two tomorrow so do pop back.

Ethans birthday

Hello everyone. Today was the start of a"relaxing" weekend, as there is nothing more that we can do at Stevie's until Tuesday
This morning Barry, Gerald. Patrick and myself played a round of golf, and we all enjoyed it - especially me as I won all three of them!
After golf, Maggie and I went over to see her grandson Ethan as he is 6 today.
Here is the card that I made for him.
I have cased this from Julie's blog

Thank you

Hello everyone.
Can I first of all thank everyone for their kind wishes, beautiful cards, flowers and thoughts and prayers for my family and me on the loss of my beloved brother Stevie.
I just wanted to update people so that you know what's happening over the next week.
Because of the circumstances of his death, we cannot have the funeral until next Thursday (20th). There will be service, celebtrating his life, at Hoyland Methodist Church at 2:15 p.m. followed by interment at Kirk Balk Cemetary at 3:00 p.m. Everyone is then welcome to come for refreshments to Hoyland Catholic Social Club.
There is much to do that cannot be done until next week, but in the meantime, the family has been kept busy sorting out the house, which has to be vacated by a week on Monday and most of the work has now been done here.
We are all having the weekend off now and we will carry on next week.
Tomorrow is my great-nephew Ethan's birthday and Maggie and I are going over there in the afternoon with his cards and pressies. Sunday and Monday Barry and me, Maggie and Gerald have decided that we are going to go to Belton Woods with the Monday Club golfing (although Maggie will just walk the course whilst we three actually play). Am not sure what the standard of golf will be like, but at least it will hopefully be a relaxing distraction for the four of us. Anne-Marie (baby sister) is returning to Manchester for the weekend and Chris and Jane are holding the fort until we all get back together Monday evening/Tuesday morning for the second wave of action.
I am going to try and do a bit of crafting tonight to keep me occupied, so if I manage to get anything done, I will post it later.
So for now I will sign off and talk to you later.
Love
Kate

Sad sad news

Hi everyone, I have some really sad news, and it breaks my heart to say this, but my brother died this morning.
I got a phone call during my craft class at lunctime today, telling me that my brother Stevie, had been found dead at home. His employer had been concerned when he did not turn up for work this morning. Stevie has not had a day off sick in his working life, so they knew that something was amiss. Our brother-in-law John, worked with Steve, and went to Steve's at lunchtime to see what was wrong, and he found him in the loo dead.
We have to wait for the various procedures to be carried out now and will have to sort out his affairs as he was single.
It will be a difficult time for us, I have two sisters and another brother, so the four of us will be there for one another, and I know that your thoughts will be with me and mine over the next few weeks.
Please feel free to pop a note in the comments box just to let me know that you know.
I will update this blog as soon as I have more details.
Til then take care
Luv
Kate

I'm back!

Hi everyone - long time no see! As you know I have just got back from Turkey where the weather has een fabulous - 27 degrees plus! Needless to say, other than a little eating, drinking, walking and swimming, we didn't do much at all, just chilled for the week.
Now it's back home and back to reality.
Yesterday I did all the washing, and as it wasn't a pleasant morning, I had to dry everything on the radiators!. After lunch I drove up to Settle (N. Yorkshire) to collect 26 Pink Callaway sweaters - for the Sandhill Lady Golfers - a 145 mile round trip! Boy was I tired. Barry had to make his own tea bacause I didn't get back til after 6 and then I had a Golf Club Committee meeting to go to at 7 o'clock. Came home and watched my favourite soap Corrie, then Emmerdale and lastly Eastenders and then it was time for bed.
This morning I have just prepped for my Tuesday Craft Class who will be here shortly. I am hoping to make a card and post it this afternoon before I leave for my game of golf - so keep fingers crossed.
Will soon get back into the routine!!!

This is the second Chrstmas card we have made this year. We did say that we would make at least one a month - so we are behind with these!
