Just Believe

Here is a different version of yesterday's card which proves how different a card can look
when you change the colour combination.
This is a straight copy of Chris's card - bless her!!

The colour combination this time is Basic Gray, Primrose Petals and White,
and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Easter Card

I have had a few requests for Easter cards from my ladies,
Chris (sis-in-law) had a great design for a card using the Just Believe stamp set ,
so I adapted it to make this one.

I didn't have any Daffodil Delight ribbon to match the flowers, border and butterflies,
so I used So Saffron instead - I don't think it looks too noticeable.
The border is cut using the Finishing Touches Edgelit dies.
The butterflies cut using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits.
The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set.
Basic Rhinestones for the butterflies bodies,
to add a little bit of bling - and I did add Dazzling Diamonds to the flowers -
but you can't see it at all in this photo!
Happy Easter!!

Postcrossing - Handmade cards

I have recently joined a group of  ladies from various countries who do card swaps.
You only make one card per month and you receive one card every month,
This is the card that I am posting to Mia Singh in Sweden.

The colour combo is Wisteria Wonder, Pretty in Pink and White.
I have used the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and matching Framelits Dies.
I used the Textured Impressions Fancy Fan Embossing Folder for the white section of the card.
I used a Textured Impressions Adorning Accents  embossing folder to emboss the pink section.
Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine was fastened round the top and fastened in a bow.
The sentiment is from the My Friend stamp set.
I have used Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the embossed fan crossovers
(although I am not sure whether you can see this in this bad photo)
I hope that Mia will like this card.

Happy Birthday Sarah-Jane

Today is my Stampin Up sister Sarah-Jane's birthday and here's the card I have made for her.

It's another card made using the baby wipe technique. I have used Real Red and Daffodil Delight
re-inkers to create the three colours that have been stamped with the flower stamp from
the free Sale-a-bration stamp set. The leaves are stamped in Old Olive and the borders are punched in Pumpkin Pie card stock with the Scallop Trim border punch.
The butterflies are made using the Beautiful Wings embosslits with Daffodil Delight card stock.
Sentiment from Petite Pairs.

I have had a couple of people ask what the baby wipe technique is - so here goes!!
You take any sort of baby wipe (I use a well known supermarket's value brand)
and fold it  2 or 3 times .  Place it on an OLD saucer or plate (not you finest porcelain!!)
and add a few drops of ink in various colours.  For the card above I put 6 drops of Real Red ink in the middle of the folded baby wipe, then 6 drops of Daffodil delight next to that,
then add 3 drops of DD on top of 3 drops of RR, which makes the orange colour.
I tried to keep the ink drops in a sort of rounded square shape - and it will look like a little ink pad -
which it is.  Proceed by stamping your selected stamp on the baby wipe  and you should get the effect shown above.  If you try this, do let me know and pop it on your blog so that I can see your results!!

Just Believe

Been to Chris's (sis-in-law) this morning and  Cheryl's this afternoon to spend time together crafting.
Chris's down-line Anita joined us this afternoon and we have had a great time.
I managed to finish one of the projects, but not the other two.
I'll let Cheryl post her project on her blog before I show you that one, meantime,
here is one of Chris's for you to enjoy!  It features the ever popular stamp set Just Believe.

Colour Combo is Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Basic Grey
the stamp was coloured using marker pens.
The Beautiful Wings Embosslit used to make the butterflies
3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon in Primrose Petals
and Basic Rhinestone embellishments.
Chris this is fabulous.

Chris (M)'s get well card

The blue looks nothing like the Marina Mist that it was made with,
but the light wasn't good yesterday afternoon, and I had to get this in the post!!

The Textured Impressions Square Lattice Embossing Folder and Perfect Polka Dots Folder
were used for the two panels.  The  Curly label punch was used with the Marina Mist cardstock.
I used the free S-A-B Petite Curly Label punch after using the stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the
Get well soon sentiment from Hopeful Thoughts stamp set.
The butterfly was cut using the Beautiful Wings embosslit.

Get well Margaret!

Have had telephone calls from 2 dear friends today that warranted me making get well soon cards.
The first one is for my dear friend Jackie's sister Margaret.
The second one is for one of my monthly workshop ladies - Chris (M)
So I have been busy today playing, sorry working, on two get well cards
and I have just put them in the post box so they should both get them tomorrow.
here's the one for Margaret.

The colour combo is Daffodil Delight (I find yellow a bright cheerful colour)
Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive on a base card of Ivory.
I used two of the ovals from the Framelits - Oval Collection to make the
narrow matt gold oval frame.
I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to position the two sentiments from Petite Pairs.
Using the new Secret Garden stamp set, I heat embossed in gold EP the three yellow flowers,
then embossed another image of the centre flower on Pumpkin Pie card.
I die cut the three yellow flowers using the matching Secret Garden Framelits dies.
I then hand cut the centre of the Pumpkin Pie flower and stuck it in the middle.
The leaves were die cut using the same Frame;its set and I used an embossing tool to
mark the veins on the individual leaves. (Don't know if you can see this)
To finish off I applied some Champagne Glass Stamping Glitter in the centre of the flowers.
And that's it - hopefully it will cheer Margaret up to receive a card.
I will post Chris's card tomorrow so do pop back.

Feeling Sentimental

No - I'm not feeling sentimental - it's the name of this fabulous free S-A-B stamp set.
Liz has mainly men/boys in her immediate family, so always needs male themes
for her cards - and this stamp set is ideal!

This is what I have made after class this afternoon -
The colour combo is simple - Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.
I used the Window Frame Collection Framelits to die cut  the frames
after stamping the Penny Farthing image.
I tore around the edges of a piece of "Newsprint" DSP and  coloured the torn edges
using a dauber and Early Espresso ink pad.
I used the spritzing tool with an Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker pen.
The sentiment is included in the stampset.
I used some Linen thread to fasten a knot through the (retired) bronze button.

I am not sure whether it looks vintage and distressed,
or just plain mucky!!  What do you think?

Happy Birthday Eileen

Here's the card that I have made for Eileen, whose birthday is today.

Another card using the baby-wipe technique!
You may have noticed that these are my latest fad!
They are so beautiful, yet so simple to make.
I have used the free S-A-B Bloomin Marvelous stamp set - yet again!!
The re-inkers that I have used for this are:
Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette.
The leaves are stamped in Lucky Limeade.
I have hand cut (after embossing with the Designer Frames EF) the oval frame,
and stamped on a punched extra large oval the sentiment which is from the Petite Pairs stamp set.
I used  Dazzling diamond on the flower centres and Basic Rhinestones
on the butterfly, just to add a bit of bling!!
Have a great day Eileen

Liz's card

Liz from my Thursday class has just signed up as a demo.  She really loves Stampin' Up!
products and is one of the lucky ladies who started card making  at my crafting classes
and consequently has only got SU products in her stash.
She loves this stamp set that  Anthea used on her Training day swap and has cased  her card.

Stamp set used - free Sale-a-bration set "Feeling Sentimental"
Colour Combo is Night of Navy, Real Red and White.

Get well soon

I have a monthly Saturday morning workshop and usually have 8 ladies who come to this.
One of my ladies, Carol, (Carol D - not yesterday's Carol!) came out of hospital
only yesterday, having had an operation earlier in the week, so it was out of the question
for her to come to this month's workshop, so I made her a card and all the ladies signed it.
(A couple of the ladies also made one of these when they had seen it demonstrated!)

The colour combo is Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive.
I used the baby-wipe technique again to give these beautiful 3-tone flowers,
using Real read and Daffodil Delight re-inkers, mixing the red and yellow together
to give that lovely orange tone.
The stamp set used is the free Sale-a-bration set "Bloomin Marvelous"
and you may have noticed that I am making good use of it!
The sentiment is from "Hopeful Thoughts"

As this card had to be posted I have kept it mostly  flat.
Had I been delivering it personally, I would have raised the sentiment on dimensionals,
also I would have put pearls in the centre of the flowers.
Nonetheless I think that these lovely colours will cheer her up!!

Carol's Card

Last night at Thursday class, Carol wanted to make a card that she had spotted in the catalogue.
She wanted to make it into an Engagement congratulations card , but I couldn't find the sentiment
for it. So I printed one of my sentiment squares on the computer and ....... here's the result -
Carol's card!!
P.S.  Carol is a newly recruited S.U. Demo - she will do well!!

You can see the card that was the inspiration for this one
on page 3 of the Seasonal Spring/Summer Catalogue.

Man's card

Here's a card I made at Chris's yesterday - it's for my nephew (Chris's son) Richard
who lives in Australia, so it had to be posted yesterday for him to receive it
in time for the 19th February. It had to be a flat card because of the postage costs
so I had to rely on a bit of texture, using the Textured Impressions Square Lattice Embossing Folder .
The paper is the SAB Sycamore Street free DSP, as is the Island Indigo ribbon.

Stephen's birthday

Been over to Chris's (sis-in-law's) today, but left early because of the weather,
Glad that I left when I did as it's getting quite bad now and the snow has settled.
We decided to ink up one of her stamp sets that haven't ever been used before -
Up Up and Away!!
This is the card that I made - which was very similar to Chris's.

Colour combo to match Comfort Cafe DSP is
Midnight Muse, Cajun Craze, Summer Starfruit and Pool Party on White.
I used the fabulous Natural Trim ribbon - it looks like hessian.
The personalized sentiment is computer generated for my
nephew Stephen, who's birthday is coming up soon.

Baby wipe/Re-inker technique

Well today I haven't spent much time in the craft room as I have  had the decorators working in there
this morning and a class in there this afternoon, so I have only just had time to have a little play now that dinner is done with and Barry's gone out for the evening.
I had another play with the SAB stampset "Bloomin Marvelous"
For a free stamp set it is extremely useful!

I put 2 to 3 drops of ink in Pretty in Pink, Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party
onto a wet baby wipe, folded and placed on a saucer.
I then used this as I would an ink-pad.
You can see the beautiful effect quite clearly on the flowers, it's a bit more subtle
on the butterflies.
The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set.
Ribbon, Bakers Twins and card stock used is Wisteria Wonder.
Sentiment is from Petite Pairs.
Basic Rhinestone embellishments.
All products are Stampin' Up!

What do you think??

Tea for Two

Here's one of the cards that I managed to finish on Saturday

Don't know whether you can see the detail but I used a Calypso Coral  card base.
Embossed a piece if Naturals Ivory card stock using the Honeycomb embossing folder.
Then I similarly embossed and cut out the hexagons from a piece of Tea for two DSP.
These were then stuck on top of the Ivory card
I stamped out and punched a ticket using the "That's the Ticket stamp set
and matching punch with So Saffron ink and card stock.
The butterflies were stamped using Papillon Potpourri and punched with the matching punches.
I really enjoyed making this card (even though it was faffy cutting those hexagons!!)

All day Training Event

As you know, yesterday was our Quarterly Training Event at Pudsey, where we spent a fun filled and crafty day with our lovely Stampin' Up! Team - Julie's Jems.  Julie had as usual organised a fabulous day for us, with a super lunch and loads of raffles (I won 2 prizes!!)
We made a lovely Sale-a-bration card and gift box in the morning.

top view of box
Also in the morning Julie congratulated Demos who had promoted recently
and I received a lovely card and gift from Julie in recognition of my promotion to Silver 2.

This was the "bundle" of products I got -
You can't see what was underneath with the angle of this photo - but I got
The Oh Hello stampset and
Ovals collection of Framelit Dies
Plus the Secret Garden stampset
with matching Framelits Dies.
Can't wait to use them!!
In the afternoon we made another project which I will share with you later in the week.

All day training swaps

Today (weather permitting) I am off to Pudsey for our Julie's Jems Quarterly All day Training event.
This was the one which had to be cancelled due the snow two weeks ago.
here are my swaps - I made 45 of these!!

I made the same design in three different colour ways,
Pool Party, Tangerine Tango and Island Indigo.
I used the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder,
SAB Sycamore Street DSP, ribbons and buttons.
For the flowers I used the Boho Blossom and Itty Bitty flower punches.
The  sentiment on the buttons is stamped using the  "Hello" from the SAB Pretty Petites stamp set
then punched with a half in circle.
Basic pearls embellishments.

Looking forward to getting 45 swaps in return!!

More S-A-B cards

Two more cards that Chris and I have made using SAB products

My Pink Pirouette with Soft Suede and Very vanilla version

Chris's Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake with Whisper White version
We used the SAB Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background
and the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the border.
The flower and flower centre was stamped using the SAB Madison Avenue stamp set.
The sentiment is from Perfect Punches stamp set, punched with the Extra-large Oval punch.
This was stuck in the middle of an oval embossed with the Designer Frames Embossing Folder.
Basic Rhinestone embellishments.
Once again two different looks using different colours on the same design.

SAB Card Class

As some of you already know, this Sunday our team (Julie's Jems) had a blog hop.
I visited everyone's blogs on the hop and it really inspired me .
I really loved  the cards on Jane's blog and commented that they would make a great class.
Here are the cards that I have made thanks to Jane's inspiration
- I am sure my ladies will love them!

They are all made using the free Sale-a-bration stampset Bloomin Marvelous
and show you how simple it is to make fabulous cards with just one stampset,
a couple of ink pads  and a punch or two.
Thanks for the inspiration Jane xx

Dresser cards

Had a lovely time today with Chris (sis-in-law), we have made 4, yes 4! cards.

Here's the dresser card that I made

Pink Pirouette card stock and Twitterpated DSP used
I used the "Timber" (now retired) wheel to make the woodgrain effect
- but you may have to zoom to see this.
I used the Decorative Label Punch to cut out dresser legs.
Sentiment is computer generated, otherwise all supplies are Stampin' Up!

And here is Chris's version

Her colour combo is Crumbcake, Midnight Muse and Pool Party with Comfort Cafe DSP.

Two totally different looks!

Brian's inspiration - My Mini Valentine

Yesterday afternoon, I was trawling the internet for something a little different from the ordinary,
when I happened across Brian King's blog and his post showing his little Valentine.
Well - straight away I knew that I wanted to make a little Valentine too -
and this is what I came up with - A Mini Valentine Easel Card.

Open - front view
Open - side view
Closed - top view

View to show size
I used the 1" and 1/2" circle punches,
7/8" and 1.1/4" scallop circle punches
A small (flattened) Soda Pop Top
The flower in the centre of the Soda Pop Top was punched with the
1/2" circle punch out of a piece of the Print Poetry DSP stack.
The "brake" for the easel was made by stamping the sentiment from My Little Valentine
sentiment, then cutting out with one of the punches from the Little Label Punch Pack.
What do you reckon Brian??

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

Created With Love Challenge 27 - Valentines Day
By the Cute and Girly - February Challenge - Roses are Red
Simply Create Too Challenge#30 Valentines Day (or hearts)

Inks  and colour combo used - Certainly Celery and Crumb cake.
Stampsets used Lovely as a tree, Collage Curios, Artistic Etchings and En Francais.
Sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Small butterfly punch,
Basic Rhinestones.

Julie's Jems Blog Hop now on!!

Morning everyone - thank you for visiting and I do hope that you'll take part in
our team's blog hop today.
You may have arrived here via the lovely Mel Hughes blog or you may have
just wanted to see what I have to show you today.

All the items on this card (apart from card stock) come from
the new Seasonal Spring/Summer Catalogue.

Colour Combo is Midnight Muse, Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake.
Background paper is from the Print Poetry DSP Stack.
The flower is made by stamping 6 hearts from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set,
then die cutting them using the matching Hearts a Flutter Framelits,
and sticking onto a circle to form the base of the flower.
The  flower centre ribbon rose is made using the new Natural Trim Ribbon.
The That's the  Ticket stamp set was used along with the Ticket Duo builder punch
and then I joined them all together to produce the borders and the sentiment.
I love all these fabulous new products and had to restrain myself from buying
everything all at once and I hope that you like them too.

To continue on your journey......
I'll now pass you on to Jane Bisby to see her latest creation.

Just in case you have lost your way, here are the links to everyone taking part

(Stop digging Kate and get on with the card)
So... just for Jane:-

Stamp-set Summer Silhouette.
Assembled with the use of the trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig!
Have a great day Jane!!

Get well Lucas

Yesterday our grandson Lucas broke his finger whilst playing benchball at school.
He has been to hospital today and has now got two fingers splinted together
and is in quite a lot of pain, so Lexie and I have both made him a card.
Here is mine

You have to forgive the shadow in the bottom LH corner, but it is far too dark now
to take a photo with no artificial lighting!
I will post Lexie's another day.
The ingredients for this card are elsewhere on my blog so I won't bore you with the details.
