Margaret and Geoff's Golden Wedding Anniversary

Today is the Golden Wedding Anniversary of a couple of our golfing friends,
Margaret and Geoff.
Margaret celebrated her 70th birthday earlier this month,
and you will have seen her card on here.

This is one of my favourite go-to designs for Weddings, Anniversaries,
Engagements etc, as it is a lovely delicate die cut heart, which I am sure is no
stranger to any of my readers, I use it a lot.
Its the Bloomin Hearts Thinlits die.
the card is Very Vanilla and the die cut heart is Gold Glimmer,
but as the photo was taken when it was teeming it down with rain,
the lighting was not the best, so the colours don't show as well as they might.

Anyhow, Margaret and Geoff here's to a fabulous day for you both
and here's wishing you many more happy years to come.
All our love xxx

White on white for Jackie' Birthday

Today is the birthday of one of my very special and dear friends, Jackie.
Jackie loves, snowdrops, white cyclamens, white orchids etc etc, you get the picture,
So I decided to make her a White on White card - not something I do often!

Here's the result, which I am quite pleased with.

Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder  for the background.
Layering Circles die for the aperture.
Flourish Thinlits for the flourish and tiny pearls for embellishment.
Greetings inked in Versamark and heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.

Have a fabulous birthday Jackie and see you soon!!

Get well soon

A quicky post today as I am out and about.
Here's a card that I sent to a friend who isn't exactly ill, just feeling
a bit under the weather, so I thought this might cheer her up!!

Another one of the fabulous Eastern Medallions Thinlits Die creations.
Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and White colour combination
and a computer generated sentiment.

The only addition to this card is the star shaped jewel in the centre -
it doesn't need anything else - dont you agree??

Deck the halls

Here's another Christmas card made using the Carols of Christmas Bundle

This card looks more complicated than it is.
The oval was cut in the top layer of white card, then the baubles were stamped
onto this in Smoky Slate ink.
The coloured baubles were then stamped on a separate piece of card in the three colours
Tranquil Tide, Pool Party and Smoky Slate.
These were then die cut with the Card Front Builder dies from the bundle
and stuck over the grey stamped images.
Using the oval that was cut out of the original piece of white card,
the sentiment was stamped in Tranquil Tide and the stars were stamped
in Pool Party,
The card was then assembled with a mat of Tranquil Tide onto the White card base.
the Bables with the oval cut out were then stuck onto the Tranquil Tide
layer, using dimensionals. The Oval with the sentiment stamped on it,
was then stuck directly onto the Tranquil Tide layer/
The holly sprigs were coloured using marker pens
and then stuck on place.

Card completed!!

Janet's birthday

Today is the birthday of one of ny crafting ladies, who started coming
to my classes as I started being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator,
8 years ago now!!

This is a card that I have cased from my Stampin' Up! Mummy, Julie.
Now I bought this stamp set after seeing a few cards that Julie had made
using them, whilst at a monthly training, but with the advent of the new catalogue, then the Autumn/Winter Catalogue, they got forgotten about, until now.
All credit for the design has to go to Julie and you can see more of her work
using this set
HERE

Meantime, Happy Birthday Janet - have a great day!!

Julie's swap

Here is the swap that Stampin' Up! Mummy Julie made for us
last week using the Painted Harvest Stamp set

Don't the sunflowers look magnificent in the shades of blue,
it totally alters the image, and I love it , great idea Julie!

And more "Colourful Seasons"

I do love this stamp set, it is so versatile,
and, as the name suggests it has images suitable for all seasons

This is a card that I made with Chris a few Wednesdays ago, seems an age since I saw her!!

Colour combo is Soft Suede, Dapper Denim, and Sweet Sugar Plum.

Hometown greetings

I don't like to say that I like one swap better than another when I receive them on Training days,
but I couldn't help but fall in love with this little beauty when I received it from Amanda.
You will have seen cards that I have made following inspiration from her on many occasions.
Her cards are truly fabulous.
See more of them, plus a tutorial on how to make this amazing card

Two separate views so that you can appreciate the beauty of this card.

Glynis's birthday

Today is my golfing partner (at Sandhill Golf Club), Glynis's Birthday.

I decided that I would send her one of the cards that I made at Training
on Monday, when Julie showed us this new fold - a Dutch fold card!

I am really pleased with this and have tried to photograph it
so that you can see the top flap lifts up and the bottom two flaps open out

Almost closed

Bottom flaps Open
This card uses the Painted Autumn DSP
the Painted Harvest Bundle
consisting of the stamp set and matching Leaf Punch
(not used on this card, but see later posts showing this used!)
Colour Combo, Garden Green, Soft Suede and Crushed Curry.

Happy Birthday Glynis - have a great day!!

Joy

I found this sheet of embossed Crumb cake card that had been highlighted
with white ink in one of my "work in progress" baskets.
I trawled the Internet for ideas, and found a card that I have based this card on.

I layered it onto a Cherry Cobbler Card Base,
cut a White oval and a Scalloped Red Oval using the
Layering Ovals Thinlits dies.
The"Joy" sentiment is a retired die from
Wonderful Wreath Framelits dies - I wanted it to have impact
and it was the perfect size for the design.
The mistletoe is cut with the Pretty Pines Thinlits
and the berries are small flat back pearls.

Yup I am quite happy with this card, shame the fading light did nothing for the photo!!

Tuesday 19 September 2017

Let it snow!

Today's card is one that I have cased from my fellow Jem team members - Amanda,
we met up at All day training yesterday and I gave her a laugh when I told her
what I had done wrong on this card!
Can you spot the mistake??

That aside, here are the details of the card.

The Merry Little Labels stamp set was used to stamp the design
in Versamark then heat embossed with the White Embossing Powder.
I then used a sponge brayer, inked up with the Night of Navy ink pad
to cover the rest of the label and a quick buff with Kitchen Roll
to get rid of any excess ink on the design.
This was then cut out with the Everyday Label Punch
which matches these stamps.
I embossed the white mat with the Softly Falling
Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and stuck this onto
a Night of Navy mat, then stuck this onto a White base card
after adding the ribbon.
If you wish to make this card, please be aware that most snow
falls from the sky downward , and not left to right as it does
on my card - my explanation is that there was a strong Easterly Wind
blowing that day!!
It made Amanda and me chuckle when I told her what I had done!!
You can see the original version of Amanda's

All day training swaps

Once a quarter, our Stampin' Up! team of demonstrators Julies' Jems,
get together and spend a full day of training together, when we make various projects,
and generally have a laugh, but we also make and exchange swaps.

Here's the one that I made.

and here they are all together

I really enjoyed making these little eskimo labels double Z-fold cards
which I made based on a design of  Bronwyn Eastley,
(You will see a link to her site on a previous posting)
but this one uses  papers, stamps and dies that are all available
in the latest catalogues.

Merry little Christmas DSP, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper,
Crumb Cake and Old Olive card stock.
Lots of Labels Thinlits dies.
Perfect Pines Thinlits dies.
Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set.
Memento black and Crumb Cake ink pads, (colour Eskimo with an Aqua painter
and Crumb Cake, then use coloured markers for the detail).
Wink of Stella clear,

I did promise to show you more of the cards made with the Colourful Seasons Bundle
heres another one for you

Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide with a touch of Soft Suede and Smoky Slate on this card.
The background is just a wash on watercolour paper .
The branch and flowers (after stamping) are cut using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits,
part of the Colourful Seasons Bundle.

Aaron's birthday

To day is my Nephew Aaron's birthday, and as he is over 21
it's difficult to know what to do for cards for him.
I decided to try making an Eclipse card using some retired DSP.
I wasn't sure that it would work, as I thought it might be too busy.

Well I was surprised at how well his name stands out, it even looks a bit twinkly -
and I promise you there's not a Wink of Stella in sight!!

Have a great day Aaron - enjoy!!

Night in Bethlehem Eclipse card

I wanted to have a go at making an Eclipse card, but was unsure how to do this,
so I Googled Eclipse Card, and found lots of YouTube sites that explain
the principle, and the one I used was Randi Collins video

I found it really easy to follow, and you can see the results above -
I am really really pleased with this card and cant wait to make more!!
If you fancy having a go at these, do follow the link and watch Randi's video,
she really does make it easy to understand!!

Get well soon Elizabeth

One of my crafting ladies has been unable to come to class for a few weeks
as she fell and broke her wrist, so I wanted to make her a card
to let her know we are thinking of her, and to wish her
Get Well Soon.

I browsed the Internet for inspiration and found it on
jacqueline williams blog - stamphappy.co.nz
pop round and see her work when you get a minute.

I have used the hostess Stamp set - Background Bits
Early Espresso , Marina Mist and Soft Suede inkpads
and the sentiment from Hopeful Thoughts.

Get Well Soon Elizabeth
missng you!!

Amanda's Birthday

Today is the birthday of my very special friend, and Stampin' Up!
Silver Elite sister, Amanda.
Now if this card looks familiar, it is because I just love these
Eastern Medallions Thinlits dies - they are so pretty,
and I have used them so much, I just tweak either the design
or the sentiment to fit the occasion,.
I love this sentiment, and I hope that Amanda will too.

Happy Birthday Amanda!!
Have a great day!!

Snowflake Sentiments Bundle

When I first saw the Snowflake Sentiments Bundle I knew
that I just had to have it!!
As soon as it arrived, I couldn't wait to use it, but I was completely
and utterly brain dead when it came to a design for these beautiful Thinlits.
So - I turned to the catalogue page where I first spied these beauties
and cased the card straight from the catalogue.
(Stampin' Up! encourage us to do this.)

So I can't take any credit for the design of this card, only the making of it
and I utterly utterly love it!!
Don't you?

Margaret's 70th Birthday

Yesterday was the 70th birthday of one of our golfing friends, Margaret.

here's the card I made for her

Eastern Beauty Stamp set and Eastern Medallions Thinlits
were used for the Medallion and the two corner splashes were heat embossed
with Silver Embossing powder, as was the sentiment,
which was from Flirty Flowers stamp set.
Then medallion in the middle is the reverse side of one of the
Eastern Gold stickers, but it doesn't show up very clearly.

Year of cheer

Apologies for the lack of a post yesterday, I think I must have lost a day!!
To make up for it, you can have two for the price of one today!!

Christmas version

Everyday version

As you can see, the exact same design and paper, but one is for Christmas
and the other is for any special occasion.

I have used the Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper
isn't it lush, I think that you can see that this design is in copper.
And what about those beautiful Foil Snowflakes - they come in Gold and Silver.
I have used Copper Foil for the scalloped circle,
Stamped  the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder,

Warch this space there are more to come.....

Autumn Colourful Seasons

Here's another card using the fabulous Colourful Seasons Bundle.
I am so happy that I bought this set!
I think I have covered all the seasons, but you haven't seen all of them yet-
that pleasure is yet to come!!

A colour combo of Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive, Gold and Cajun Craze.
Think that I should have used a Very Vanilla card base rather than the white.
Other than that I am quite pleased with the result!!

Monday 4 September 2017

Wedding Day

My friend Pat asked if I would make a card for her friends' Wedding Day
Here's what I made

Flowers "winked with Stella".
Die cut heart raised on dimensionals on White card,
embossed with the Falling Petals Textured Impressions Embossing folder,
on a layer of Silver Glimmer Paper.
Mounted on a White base card with computer generated sentiment.

Hope that the happy couple like it.

Lady Captain's Day

Yesterday was our Golf Club's Lady Captain's Day,
so I really did have to mark the occasion with a card for Mary.

This little golfing Hedgehog comes in so handy for birthday cards for golfers
or for special events, and it's a really old stamp that I could never part
with as it is so versatile for so many golfing occasions.

Bethlehem

Here's another of my Christmas cards
once again using one of Bronwyn Eastley's designs
Lots of Labels Bridge Fold Card

Front view

and view from above

The Night of Bethlehem Bundle stamp set was used to stamp Mary, Joseph and the Donkey
plus the Shepherd and Sheep.
The scenery was die cut with Silver foil card, but it's hard to tell this
as the foil card doesn't photograph too well.
The background features the Merry Music Speciality DSP

If you are interested in purchasing this tutorial, visit

Thanks for the tutorial Bronwyn, enjoyed making this card
and I am so pleased with the end result.
Now who shall I send this to???
